GENDER REVEAL + 19 Week Update

Our family started out a little lopsided…

girl power!

But with our new addition, the teams are a bit more evenly matched…

It’s perfect :)

——————————

First of all, thanks to all of you who said “you look great!” last week on my 18 week update. Last week’s pic was taken right before a basketball game. I had just done my hair and makeup and was totally snapshot ready. This week I decided to be a little more “real” and show you what a make-up free, hair-undid pregnant lady looks like :)

Total Weight Gained: Around 13lbs

Stretch marks?: Just on my chesticles a little (and yes, I just said chesticles).

Belly Button Inny or Outtie?: Inny but it’s starting to get more shallow. Eek.

Maternity Clothes?: All day erryday, son. Forreal. Normal clothes are not an option anymore. I recently bought ANOTHER new bra. This time it’s a nursing bra. I bought a C-cup guys. I have NEVER been a C-cup in my whole A-cup life!

Symptoms: Overall I feel really great this week. A few symptoms: itchy dry skin, growing belly, round ligament pain, always gotta pee, clumsiness, and I get pretty winded easily.

Also, crazy baby dreams are def a real thing. My dreams are usually pretty vivid but even more so now. And the weirdest thing is there are so many random people popping up in my dreams. People that I haven’t seen or talked to in YEARS and also people I’ve only met once!

Mood/Emotions: Well I told Jon he was a f&*%ing asshole the other day when he decided to buy oatmeal and I knew we already had some at the house…so things are pretty normal.

Sleep: I think I’ve been pretty lucky in this department! I’ve had no real issues sleeping. The hardest part currently is trying not to sleep on my back or tummy.

Movement: There was a WHOLE lot of movement going on during our ultrasound last Friday! That little guy is doing quite a jiggity jig in there! I couldn’t believe it! As far as movement felt, I still feel things every once in awhile but I’m not 100% sure it’s baby boy. I can’t wait until there is no question.

Gender: It’s a boy! While we would have been equally as happy if it was a girl (right, Jon?!), we are very excited we’re having a little boy! And if for some reason, the technician was wrong, we’ll still be happy! A happy and healthy baby is all we hope for :)

Names?: We currently have a name I would say we’re about 99% sure of, but as a mentioned in my previous post, we’re not revealing it to the world until the little guy is born. A text convo I had with a family member (who shall not be named) more than reassured me that this is the right decision.

Family Member: “Congrats on the baby news! Do you have any names picked yet?”
Me: “Yes! I think we like XXXXXXXX!
Family Member: “R u serious?”
Me: “Umm…yup!”
Family Member: “Well we will love him no matter what he is named”

Nice.

Cravings: Mexican food. And THIS gelato. People…pregnant or not, stop what you’re doing right now, and go to the grocery store and buy this gelato. Both Jon and I agree it is TOTALLY worth it’s $5.50 price tag. GO NOW!

Aversions: Nada

Things I Miss: We have our alumni game at UMW tomorrow and I won’t be playing in it :( I also miss shopping…for non-maternity clothes.

Workouts This Week:
1. 1 hour walk with Jon…which was really long and I was OVER IT by the end.
2. 45 Minute Walk OUTSIDE – it was beautiful! But I did get very winded and a little dizzy towards the end so I immediately took a break. LISTEN TO YO BODY!!!
3. 15 minutes on the elliptical (but I got really winded so I stopped and stretched), followed by 10 minutes on the bike

Next Doctors Appointment: In four weeks!

Other Notable Happenings: After we found out the gender news, Jon and I purchased bedding, a crib, a changing table and some paint for the nursery! We built the crib and the changing table and painted the nursery all in one day! BOOM. I also started my registry online from the bit of advice I’ve gathered from bloggers and other people.

This is fun :)

Mommy’s out there: are there any MUST HAVES I should put on my baby registry?

  1. So excited for you and Jon! Congratulations!! And I love the au naturel pic :)

  2. Casey says:

Yayyyy! A BOY!! :D Well, I’m sure it sucks not being able to shop for non-maternity clothes, buuuuuuuut you get to shop for adorable “Daddy’s lil’ man” outfits now :) Ps. Pretty sure I saw an Eagle onesie in the bookstore when I rolled through in Dec… soooo that’s exciting. Sidenote: a dude trying to mack on me in the ice cream aisle a few weeks ago tried persuading me to leave my BOGO Breyers and opt for this gelato… turns out creeper man may have been on to something. Will give it a second thought now.

    • Katy says:

Ahh gotta grab that UMW onesie stat!! Also, that creeper def has good taste in desserts (may be the weirdest sentence I’ve ever typed).

  3. Kait Custer Bilston says:

Congrats on the baby boy news!! You look fabulous by the way, sans make up and hair did. ;) Loving the updates, keep them coming!

  4. So I just now saw your Twitter comment. I am so sorry. I am horrible when it comes to checking Twitter! But I am so excited to see the fun news that you’re having a boy!! Congratulations! I can’t believe what you’re family member said. I made it clear to our family members before I announced the name that they were not allowed to say ANYTHING but positive comments!! ;)

    Congrats again! You look great!

    • Katy says:

The worst is telling people the name face to face, because even if they say “oh I love it!” their face can say something totally different! I’m thinking about just saying “screw it” and announcing it on the blog. That way I don’t have to see people’s faces! ha!

  5. Congratulations from another Fredericksburg area blogger – love your blog – beautiful photos! Best wishes on your new little boy :)
